Test for Academic Studies

The Test for Academic Studies (TestAS) is an aptitude test for international students wishing to study at a German university. It measures general and subject-related abilities and serves as a supplementary qualification to international school or university degrees. 

At Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, DHBW), TestAS is recognized as the written component of its university-specific entrance exam (hochschulindividuelle Zugangsprüfung, HZP).

• The university-specific entrance exam is aimed at prospective students with a foreign educational qualification that grants direct access to higher education in the country in which it was awarded, but would additionally require either a Feststellungsprüfung at a Studienkolleg or proof of successful completion of one year of study at a recognized higher education institution for the purpose of studying in Germany. The university-specific entrance examtherefore constitutes an alternative to these requirements.
• The university-specific entrance exam consists of a written component and an oral component. At DHBW, TestAS is recognized as the written component.
• You may choose to take the TestAS at any licensed TestAS test center worldwide.

Registration for a TestAS exam date is only possible via the official TestAS website.

Both prospective students of DHBW, and prospective students of other universities may register for any of the TestAS exam dates offered by us.
